Pia Blyton wants it all. A steady boyfriend, love and her independence. But to ignore her succubus nature is to welcome chaos. Every three days she must orgasm to feed. Bad sex isn’t an option. Stave off the hunger for too long and her demon side peeks out, and its tastes are much less discerning than hers.
One bad day, one wrong decision, and her demon takes control of her libido and kisses all her best intentions goodbye.
Brokenhearted and ashamed, Pia is dragged home to Lake City by Zur-Sin, a vampire her father paid to find her. Caught in a world where mortal desires are seen as a weakness, Pia needs to figure out how to protect her heart from her deepest longings.
Cooper had his hands so deep in his front pockets it looked as if they’d been swallowed. He stared at the closed bathroom door until finally, his gaze moved to me. “Why couldn’t he feed you?”
“He didn’t know the rules.”
The shifter heaved a big sigh. “Where are the keys to the restraints?”
I shook my head as if I hadn’t a clue.
“I’m a shifter if you haven’t guessed. We have pretty good hearing so I know you chained yourself.” He turned a slow circle and sniffed.
My demon was close to the surface as if we shared the same space. I tracked Cooper as he moved slowly around the room.
“I’m the best hunter in my pack. Zur-Sin had me follow your scent all over the place trying to find you.” He looked under the dresser. “Ever drive with your head out the window with a vampire behind the wheel of a sports car? When a bug hits you at that speed it could knock your eye out.”
I chuckled then clamped my mouth shut.
Cooper circled toward me. “You couldn’t have tossed it far since you’re chained up.” His gaze moved toward the edge of the mattress where it met the wall and my chained hand lay. He bent to look under the bed. I heard some scrambling and my bed bumped as he moved under me, until he came up with the key dangling in his hand. “Ta-da. I knew you couldn’t have thrown with your wrists chained.”
