Reclaiming the Edge ~ Sara Brookes
Reclaiming the Edge
by Sara Brookes
It isn’t a birthday celebration without a little pain to chase the pleasure—at least according to Dalton and Cade, the two men who stole Erin’s heart. Relationships are complicated and Erin has been retreating—both emotionally and physically—from her lovers. Pushed away for reasons they don’t understand, and determined to erode her resistance, the men devise a wicked plan. They intend to use two very special gifts and one captivating night to reclaim her submission. But Erin’s trip to subspace extracts a heart-wrenching confession that threatens to rip the triad apart forever.
Warning: Contains a well-trained, dirty-talking submissive who succumbs to the commands of her Master, custom nipple clamps, tongue wagging oral sex, a well-deserved punishment with a butt plug, men who share more than a few heart-racing kisses and a custom-made-work-of-art sex chair that shows this M/M/F triad just how powerful their passion for one another is. And that’s just chapter one.

They drew her closer, cosseting her in their strong arms. How foolish had she been to push this away? She’d never doubted their love for a second, but she’d certainly doubted herself. “My men.”
A shadow darkened Cade’s eyes as he slowly exhaled. “I really want to stay, but my shift starts in an hour since I’m covering for Tommy while he’s away. And unless I want to go to work smelling like you two, I need to take a shower.”
He nudged her mouth with the tip of his tongue. She accepted him, loving the slide of his flesh against hers. Loving the way his careful, patient strokes seemed to melt away the last bands of constriction around her heart. His eyes were alight with arousal when he finally broke away and he turned, capturing Dalton’s mouth next. She treasured sitting this close, feeling the heat radiate from their bodies as they kissed. Though Cade was submissive, the kiss he branded on Dalton’s lips was anything but.
“Take care of our girl.” He moved away, gathered his clothes and closed the door as he left.
About Your Book:
Please tell us about your current release.
Reclaiming the Edge is an m/m/f contemporary erotica. Why it leans more toward erotica than erotic romance is simply because the cast of characters had their romance told during Ragged Edge. Call this a hot, little glimpse of what the character’s lives are like two years down the road after their HEA. As readers will find out, it’s not all wine and roses. Erin is dealing with a difficult point of her life and her two men are right there at her side to help her pull through it with total acceptance of the change in their lives because of her news.
Where did you come up with the idea to write your book?
The trio of characters were already ones that I’d created when I wrote Ragged Edge. I was in the process of working on the next book in the series, with the full intent of having the three show up, when I noticed they were taking over the storyline. That was not my intent at all and I immediately cut out the section. However, the story they wanted to tell wouldn’t leave me alone. Since I’m still working on the second book, I decided to do a “quickie” that could be considered a 1.5.
Are your books available as eBooks? Were you involved in that process at all? Do you read eBooks or is it paper all the way?
Since I write for e-publishers right now, all my book are available as ebooks. I’ve been fortunate enough to have Ellora’s Cave put three of my books into paperback. Ragged Edge, the book before Reclaiming the Edge, and two of my novellas (Hard as Stone & Chasing Sin) have been combined in print for Natural Lust are available now.
How does your family feel about the book?
My husband has actually read Reclaiming the Edge, as well as nearly all of my books. He was actually the one that pushed me to send out Ragged Edge, which was hotter, more explicit and my first m/m/f story, to Ellora’s Cave. It actually helps that he does read my books in the early stages because it gives me someone to bounce ideas or changes I can make. He’s helped talk me through some plot snags before as well. So, needless to say, he’s extremely supportive of my writing career!
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Yes, full and utter acceptance no matter what obstacles stand in the way. Dalton and Cade do that for Erin unquestionably during a particular scene in the story. Though this book is a quickie, it definitely still packs an emotional wallop—on the characters and the readers.
Have you ever gone out in public with your shirt on backwards, or your slippers on, and when realizing it, just said screw it?
Yes, I have! Some days it’s easier just to throw your hands up in the air and not worry about what someone else thinks. They aren’t the ones wearing it, or not wearing it, so what does it matter? And then there are just some days there isn’t enough coffee in the world…
If you could have any automobile, which would you have?
A 1975 ‘Vette. I have much, much lust for American muscle. So much so, a lot of times you’ll find my characters driving them. In fact, while it’s not in Reclaiming the Edge, Erin drives a Firebird.
Are you a person who makes their bed in the morning, or do you not see much point?
I hate making the bed. I can’t remember the last time I did. So I’m definitely of the variety that I don’t see much point. I’m just going to crawl into it again when I get home and mess it all up again.
Sara Brookes is an award-winning author who has always been fascinated by the strange, the unusual, the twisted and the lost (tortured heroes are her personal favorite). She is an action movie junkie, addicted to coffee and has been known to stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing RPG video games. Despite all this, she is a romantic at heart and is always a sucker for an excellent love story.
