#Review Embracing My Submission by Jenna Jacob @JennaJacob3 #Romance
I have a hard time find BDSM books that I enjoy. Or BDSM books where there is actually BDSM in the story. This book was good but it did not have any BDSM in the story.
No matter what using a dish towel to tie someone’s hand/arms to a table leg does not constitute BDSM. As a Dominate one told me just because a guy tied up his girlfriend 30 years ago when they were sixteen does not mean anything. All I read from the characters in this book was some hot vanilla sex a little on the kinky side. Nothing that shows anything as BDSM.
We have Daddy Drake, a dominate who is supposed to be guiding, protecting Emerald. Granted readers need to give him a little leeway since he is homosexual. I can understand him trying and helping to guide Emerald in how to be submissive. What I can’t understand is how he is so out of tune to what she needs. Yes, he cares for her but he is not able to provide her with everything she needs so it makes me wonder why he even offered her his protection and guidance.
Readers are told that Mika is dominate. And that is it. We are told, we are not shown anything about his dominance. Not once did I see any action that showed him as being dominated.
Just saying the words ‘I am a Master’, ‘I am a Dom’, ‘I am into the kinky lifestyle’ does not make it true.
While this was story was well written, it was a story about a regular vanilla couple who experienced with some kink. It was not a BDSM story. There were not any scenes. There was not any show of dominance.
