#Review Espresso Shot by Cleo Coyle @CleoCoyle #Mystery
I really enjoyed this 7th book in the series. It felt back on track with the other series.
The author did leave several questions unanswered. Who send the email about the bride’s dress? How did the breakfast get poisoned? Did Bree ever visit her sister she has not seen in 20+ years?
Maybe the author decided to leave the unanswered questions up to the readers imagination. However those questions posted above are just a few left unanswered in the story.
This story did not have Madame showing up as much as the other stories. Then throughout this whole series the author keeps telling readers Madame is close to 80 years old. Well it is know that when the series started Clare was 39 and Matteo was a few years older than Clare. The author has explained a little bit of the love story between Madame and Matteo’s father. However in the series it is implied that Madame was young when she married the first time. Then it is told to readers that Matteo’s father died while he was young. Seems strange to have Madame give birth to a child in her mid 40’s.
Just my thoughts and opinions about this.
This book is part of my BookBunny group reading challenge.
