#Review The Ghost and Mrs. McClure by Alice Kimberly @CleoCoyle #Mystery
I admit I did not know what to expect when I started this book. I knew there would be some paranormal. But other than that, I was wondering how captivating this series would turn out. Let me say that this book was so much better than I thought.
Penelope trying to put her and her child’s life back together after her husband committed suicide. She is faced with in-laws who do not think she is the best person to raise the child. It is not stated anywhere in the book but readers get the feeling that Penelope was from the ‘wrong side of the tracks’.
Jack Shepard a private detective from the 1940’s who was murdered in Penelope’s book store. Jack is a ghost, spook, haunt, or apparition. Whatever you want to use he takes up space in Penelope’s mind.
I admit to really enjoying the start of this series. The mystery really shows up at the beginning of the story. However, there are a few things different. To this reader, it just makes the story that more interesting.
Of course, right now my favorite character is Jack. I am sure additional characters will be added over the course of this series. I highly recommend this book to all who enjoy cozy mysteries.
